Daralyn Wins ABA's Closing Argument Competition

May 7, 2017

Daralyn Durie bested three of the top litigators in the country at the American Bar Association’s annual litigation section meeting today, performing a mock closing argument in front of hundreds of attendees for bragging rights and a $40,000 prize for charity.  Daralyn’s opponents included the legendary James Brosnahan of Morrison & Foerster and Robert Clifford of Clifford Law offices who each gave the plaintiff’s closing in the Silicon Valley employment case Pao v. Kleiner Perkins, and Bart Williams of Proskauer Rose, who gave the defendant’s closing in addition to Daralyn.  Following all four performances, the audience voted for the winner via text message.  Daralyn will donate her winnings to City Slicker Farms, an organization committed to helping residents of Oakland create urban farms and backyard gardens.
