Katie focuses her practice on intellectual property litigation. Prior to joining Durie Tangri, Katie served as a law clerk to the Honorable Kara F. Stoll of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and before that to the Honorable Richard G. Andrews of the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. During law school, Katie also served as an extern to the Honorable Richard M. Mosk of the California Court of Appeal. Katie also worked as an intellectual property litigation associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where she handled patent and trade secret matters involving technology ranging from software to medical devices.
Katie earned her J.D. from Stanford Law School, where she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Stanford Technology Law Review. At Stanford, Katie received the Judge Thelton E. Henderson Prize for outstanding performance in the Juelsgaard Intellectual Property and Innovation Clinic. Before law school, Katie earned her B.S. in Neuroscience from Duke University.
Katie is licensed to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office.
In her free time, Katie volunteers with a dog rescue and is happiest in the outdoors. She particularly enjoys hiking and wilderness backpacking, skiing, and equestrian sports.
