Daralyn Wins Federal Trade Secret Trial

Oct 27, 2017

A unanimous jury cleared Daralyn Durie’s client Orange of a $60 million dollar trade secret misappropriation claim as well as hacking claims brought by Bay Area startup Telesocial in federal court today.  Plaintiff Telesocial had accused Orange of computer hacking and trade secret theft, along with a number of other claims.  The claims were based on meetings between the two companies back in 2012 regarding a potential partnership and testing by Orange employees of Telesocial’s application “Call Friends.”  The jury found for Orange on all counts except one:  Orange breached Telesocial’s terms of service and must pay nomal damages of $1.
